Rothbury Music Festival 2009 Updates

Rothbury 2008 was held in Double JJ Ranch but after Labor Day the golf course, waterpark, dude ranch, family resorts, and many other aspects of the ranch were closed down. Since the ranch borrowed $17,5000,000 for their newest waterpark edition they’ve been in trouble. The Rothbury ranch has filed bankruptcy which led to a scheduled auction of the land on October 30th. The ranch owes at least $22,000,000 to creditors, $98,829 to their electric provider, $48,608 in property taxes, and many more bills remained unpaid. In the last year the ranch for up for sale for $40,000,000 but the land is currently estimated to be worth worth $33,000,000. The owners of the land while in court mentioned that there have been many offers to buy the ranch before the pending auction date and they also have the option of going through with a Chapter 11 reorganization. For this reason the ownership of the land is now in question. The official Rothbury website has a section where you can get updates and news from their press release area via text messages, just in case you want to be the first to know what’s happening. If you’re interested in an aproximate date that the 2009 Rothbury schedule might be announced if the auction doesn’t go through, Feburary is your best bet. That’s just going on the same time frame as last years press release. I think tens of thousands of people will be extremely disappointed if they don’t choose to relocate if they can’t maintain ownership. Upwards of 40,000 fans come to Rothbury ever year it’s held with 70+ famous artists coming to spread their music. Rothbury was such a mesmerizing event that no photo or video could possibly capture what it really looked like. After the last Rothbury festival owner Lipsitz commented “We have a lot of days ahead … a lot can happen. I will take it one day at a time. We’ve just had an amazing four days with 40,000 of my best friends.” So many people are counting on partying down in 2009!
