Jam band music and concerts

Summer Camp Music Festival is a jam band music festival which has been held every year since 2001. It is hosted in Chillicothe, Illinois by Jay Goldberg Events & Entertainment as well as Jam Productions every Memorial Day weekend. Summer Camp Music Festival is a 3 day festival that allows people to camp there overnight for the whole 3 days. It also opens one day early to people with a 3-day pass for an additional charge but will contain music and activites on that Thrusday. Summer Camp includes music, food, beer, vendors, and many different late night shows. When it first was started in 2001 there were only 15 bands that played over a period a 2 days but it has increased to 60 bands over 3 days. There was also only 2 stages when Summer Camp was first formed but it has tripled and now has 6 stages. The 6 different stages of the Summer Camp Music Festival is the Moonshine Stage, the Sunshine Stage, the Camping Stage, the Late Night Stage, the Campfire Stage, and the Star Shine Stage which was introduced in 2008. There is also a Kids Camp located at the festival with activies for children of all ages. At the Kids Camp there is a parade that marches through the campgrounds for the youngsters who are allowed to dress up in costumes provided by the festival. Although the list of bands expected to be at Summer Camp 2009 is not posted the bands that played at Summer Camp 2008 included moe, Umphrey’s McGee, The Flamng lIps, O.A.R., The Roots, The New Pornographers, Clutch, Dark Meat, U-Melt, Hot Buttered Rum, and Girl Talk.
